Once Upon a Time in Bled: Klemen & Melisa’s Fairytale Wedding

Postcard from Lake Bled

Some weddings feel like they were written for the big screen, and Klemen and Melisa’s wedding on Lake Bled was exactly that. A mix of timeless romance, breathtaking scenery, and yes, a few unexpected challenges that only added to the story.  If you’ve never been to Bled, imagine a postcard that suddenly comes to life. The turquoise lake, the tiny island in the middle, and above it all the iconic Bled Castle, looking like it was built just for wedding films and photos. For us as creative photographers and videographers, it was pure heaven. But let’s be honest, we weren’t the only ones who thought Bled was magical that day. Thousands of tourists seemed to agree, and they all showed up at the exact same time. Trying to shoot an intimate couple session while surrounded by selfie sticks and tour buses takes a special kind of focus, and maybe a little magic.

One of our biggest challenges was time. Weddings always have tight schedules, but this one felt like a race against the clock. We had just a few precious minutes for the couple shoot, and with the crowd situation, it became a creative puzzle: find the right angle, wait for the perfect second, and capture the magic. Honestly, these kinds of challenges are what make our work exciting. And Bled Castle? Absolutely stunning. The views from the top are beyond words, the kind of scenery that makes every frame look like a painting. If only we could have cleared out just a few thousand tourists… maybe next time we’ll rent the whole castle. Kidding, or maybe not. But beyond the location, the real magic came from Klemen and Melisa themselves. Their vows were heartfelt, emotional, and genuine, the kind of words that remind us why we love taking memories of weddings in the first place. They laughed, they cried, they danced like nobody was watching. Well, except us and a few hundred new tourist friends.

At the end of the day, this wedding reminded us that perfection isn’t about everything going exactly to plan. It’s about capturing real emotions in real moments, no matter the circumstances. And with a couple like Klemen and Melisa, perfection was easy, even with a castle full of strangers.

To Klemen and Melisa: thank you for letting us be part of your story. To Bled: we’ll definitely be back, but maybe in the off-season next time.
