A Love Across Borders

Some love stories are written in the stars, and others are crafted by fate in the most unexpected places. Jessica and Anthony’s journey began in Germany, where Anthony, an American Marine stationed at a local base, met Jessica. His persistence, charm, and undeniable connection with her led to a love story that would cross borders and stand the test of time. And then, as fate would have it, their journey intertwined with ours when they discovered our work on Instagram. Drawn to our storytelling style, they invited us to capture their wedding day on February 22, 2025, at the breathtaking Schlossberg Castle in Sonneberg, Germany.

The adventure began long before we arrived at the castle. Our road trip from Bosnia to Germany was anything but uneventful—multiple stops by the police added an extra layer of excitement to our journey. Yet, in the end, everything worked out perfectly, and we finally arrived in Sonneberg, eager to meet Jessica and Anthony in person. The moment we saw them, we felt an instant connection, as if we had known them for years. Their relaxed and welcoming energy made us feel right at home, setting the tone for an unforgettable experience.

The wedding morning started early, yet the atmosphere was light and stress-free—except for one unexpected twist. A local woodworker was not too pleased with our drone flying above his property and even threatened to call the police! Thankfully, Jessica and her bridal squad were in high spirits, filling the air with music and laughter, their energy infectious. That kind of enthusiasm and warmth fuels us as filmmakers, and in return, we matched their vibe, capturing every moment with passion and excitement, creating friendships that will last far beyond the wedding day.

One of the most unique aspects of this wedding was the bride’s preparation. For the first time, we filmed the bridal getting-ready session in a castle tower. Unlike traditional spaces with straight lines and symmetrical compositions, the spiral design of the tower challenged us to find new perspectives for our shots. It was an exciting creative exercise, and in the end, the results were more magical than we could have imagined.

Another unexpected yet incredibly cool moment of the wedding was our first-ever encounter with a tattoo artist working at a wedding. Guests were able to get small, meaningful tattoos to commemorate the day, adding a personal and lasting touch to the celebration. We immediately saw the potential for this to become a trend—what better way to immortalize a special day than with a permanent piece of art? It was an idea that resonated with us deeply, and we loved capturing this unique and modern twist on wedding traditions.
